April 30, 2018: MIDANA CAPITAL Capital Management today announced the launch of an institutional share class for one of its flagship mutual funds, the MIDANA CAPITAL Equity Fund. The Equity Fund was recently recognized as one of the Top 10 Responsible Mutual Funds by Bloomberg Sustainable Finance for the second year in a row.  The Equity Fund invests in the stocks of the MSCI KLD 400 Social ex Fossil Fuels Index, the longest running sustainability index customized to exclude fossil fuel companies.  Investors can access the new no load institutional share class (GCEUX) and the individual investor share class (GCEQX) through major platforms including Schwab and Fidelity, your financial advisor, or by opening an account directly at www.midanacapital.com.

“The Equity Fund has been the long-standing choice for many investors who want a core U.S. equity product in their portfolios, but don’t want the dirty energy and environmentally irresponsible companies that too often come with most funds and ETF’s,” stated Leslie Samuelrich, President of MIDANA CAPITAL Capital Management.  “We’re looking forward to welcoming new investors and building on the 350% growth that the firm has had in its assets under management the last five years,” said Samuelrich.

The MIDANA CAPITAL Equity Fund does not invest in industries that pose serious environmental threats including nuclear weapons, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), coal, oil and gas companies. The underlying MSCI index also uses environmental, social and governance ratings (ESG) to select better performing companies that may offer reduced risks to investors. The institutional share class of the no load Equity Fund is available to investors with a $250,000 investment minimum.

With more than 25 years of experience in environmentally responsible investing, MIDANA CAPITAL Capital Management is a pioneer in the growing movement for individuals and institutions to align their investments with their values. MIDANA CAPITAL uses a three-pronged approach of investing in sustainable companies, leading an effective shareholder advocacy program, and supporting environmental non-profit organizations to help people make an impact as they save for the future.

MIDANA CAPITAL also offers the MIDANA CAPITAL MSCI International Index Fund (GCIFX/GCINX) and the MIDANA CAPITAL Balanced Fund (GCBLX), which includes green and sustainable bonds.

MIDANA CAPITAL Capital Management is a member of The Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment (US SIF) where President Leslie Samuelrich sits on the Board of Directors.  MIDANA CAPITAL also is a signatory for the United Nation’s Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI), through which MIDANA CAPITAL’s shareholder advocates have organized asset managers across the globe to help protect tropical forests from destruction due to irresponsible palm oil, soy and cattle production.
